Random Ramsdom: Will Aaron Donald find the ‘passion’ to play again?
· Yahoo Sports
When Aaron Donald retired from the NFL and the Los Angeles Rams, Donald expressed that he felt full, complete and finished with his playing career. Flash forward a few years later and AD is thinking that he either has something left in the tank worth putting on the field, and or he feels he can achieve more than he already has, but will AD find the “passion” to play again?
We all know that Donald knows what it takes to have a successful NFL season, does he still have the drive all these years later? There are so many questions that we’re all waiting for answers on.

At this point, I’ll likely be more disappointed than surprised if AD decides he doesn’t want to come back. If he does come back, I’ll be more excited than surprised. It’s just an interesting situation. I suppose we’ll see how we feel when a decision is made.

The Biggest Reason Aaron Donald May Actually Consider Return to Rams (si.com)
“When Aaron Donald retired from the NFL following the 2023 season, very few would have predicted an eventual return to the Los Angeles Rams. Donald repeatedly described himself as feeling “complete” and “full” about his career.
“I think the passion to play the game is no longer there for me,” said Donald in an exclusive sit-down interview announcing his retirement. “I will always love football, but to think about going through another camp and another 17-(game) season, I just don’t got the urge to want to push myself through that no more. I’m just, I’m burnt out. The best way to say it is I’m full, I’m complete.”
Peter Schrager details Aaron Donald’s preferred role if he returns (ramswire)
“”Aaron Donald is not going to come back as some 30-cents-on-the-dollar version of Aaron Donald,” Schrager explained. “He wants to be ready—that’s why that workout was going on. He wants to be fully where he was when he retired two years ago. He wants to be the best version of himself.”

“The 49ers are a ticking time bomb. Kittle hasn’t played a full season since 2018 and seems to be on the injury report every week. CMC? Go look at his stats any season after having over 220 carries. He averages 4.3 games played each season after having too many touches, but this year he has 311 rushes, the most of his career, on top of 102 catches. Maybe it won’t be week 1, but he’s going to implode. Mike Evans hasn’t played a full season since 2020 and has a ton of wear on him. Shanahan does a good job of getting less heralded players production, but their ceiling is so limited without their collection of blue chip players. Brock Purdy…. never played a full season in his career, you see what I’m getting at here? Trent Williams hasn’t played a full season since 2013…..
TLDR: I’ll take Sean and Matt all day long.“-CLTRams
