Sixers' Mike Gansey discusses possibly adding LeBron James to roster

· Yahoo Sports

The Philadelphia 76ers have had quite the offseason as they continue with their quest to win their first championship since 1983. The Sixers have already added Jaylen Brown and have been busy in free agency as President of Basketball Operations Mike Gansey has been active in his pursuit of winning that championship for this franchise.

As the Sixers move forward, they do have a roster spot open, and they hope it's for future Hall of Famer LeBron James.

In a sit down with The Athletic, Gansey discussed James:

“We’ve had conversations with Rich, really since the Jaylen trade,” Gansey told The Athletic. “LeBron and his camp have kept quiet, and there has been speculation for different teams. But we’d obviously love to have LeBron. I respect the heck out of him. In my opinion, he’s the best player of all time. I think his decision is dragging out because he has a lot of good options and he wants to figure it out. He would obviously add a lot to our team. But at the end of the day, I know he’s going to make the right decision for him and his family."

Gansey worked with James during his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, so the two know each other well. He is looking forward to adding a guy like James, if possible, and add to a roster that is supremely talented. A starting lineup of Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Brown, Joel Embiid, and James would be the best in the league. It would then come down to health and everybody developing chemistry. Either way, the Sixers clearly have their eyes on reaching the mountaintop.
