Championship Arizona high school team has had 6 taken in MLB draft

Six players from Chandler Hamilton's 2022 state high school championship baseball team were taken in Major League Baseball drafts over the past four MLB drafts.

In Day 2 of the draft, three more players from that '22 Hamilton team were selected.
They are pitcher Kole Klecker (Minnesota Twins, 10th round from Arizona State), pitcher Rohan Lettow (Pittsburgh Pirates, 12th round, from San Diego State), and infielder Ryan Kucherak (San Diego Padres, 15th round, from Northwestern).
Keckler spent his first three seasons at TCU before transferring to ASU.
Among players taken in previous years:
Outfielder Gavin Turley was taken by the Athletics in the fourth round of the 2025 draft.
Pitcher Josh Tiedemann went to the New York Yankees in the 13th round of the 2023 draft.
That 2022 Hamilton team went 29-4 and run-ruled Chandler, 11-1, in the 6A state championship game in five innings.
Gilbert Campo Verde outfielder Ezekiel Zion was the only 2026 Arizona high school player taken in the 20-round draft. He was chosen by the Padres in the 20th round, the 605th overall pick.
