EA Sports has released this year's version of its college football video game, which is always interesting to me since it provides another nugget of insight into our favorite teams. For the Spartans, one thing that stood out to me is who is the fastest player on the roster. Do you have a guess because it wasn't who I had in mind...

According to the EA Sports player ratings database, transfer cornerback Charles Brantley is the fastest player on the Spartans' roster this year. He has a speed rating of 92, with an agility rating of 91 and change of direction rating of 89.

Brantley edged out a number of Spartans for the honor of fastest player on the team by one rating spot. Right behind him was cornerback Andrew Brinson IV, wide receiver Chrishon McCray, wide receiver Fredrick Moore, wide receiver KK Smith and cornerback Tre Bell.

Brantley is back with the Spartans after a short one-year stint with the Miami (FL) Hurricanes this past season. As many will remember, Brantley started his career at Michigan State and became a contributor from day one. He, of course, is responsible for one of the most iconic plays in recent Michigan State history when he had the game-clinching interception against Michigan in the 2021 rivalry top 10 battle.

These ratings are always interesting to review as I said earlier in this post. I would have thought McCray would have been the fastest player on the roster but I can see why Brantley is at the top too.
