Collin Bland, a Vanderbilt baseball recruit, was selected in the fourth round in the 2026 MLB Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays on July 11.
Bland is expected to sign and begin his professional career rather than play for the Commodores.
The No. 58 player in the 2026 class by Perfect Game, Bland, who attended Houston High School in Memphis, was not ranked in MLB Pipeline's top 250 prospects.
Bland is mostly known for his top-end raw power, putting up some of the best exit velocities at the MLB Draft combine.
Committed to Vanderbilt since November 2024, Bland was barely ranked in the top 500 high school prospects at that time but has seen his stock rise since then. Still, he was seen as a prospect who was likely to make it to campus, delivering a blow to the Commodores' offense for the next three years.
