Cubs Bonus Pool

Each team gets a specific amount to spend in the MLB Draft. This bonus pool is based on each team's draft picks. The higher pick you have, the more money you are allowed to spend on these prospects.

For instance, the Chicago White Sox have a slot value of $11,350,600 for the No. 1 overall pick. On the other hand, the Milwaukee Brewers have a slot value of $3,696,000 for the No. 25 overall pick.

Each pick in the first 10 rounds is assigned a slot value. Teams can give more than that amount, fewer than that amount, or that exact amount to players. But these teams cannot exceed their total bonus pool money in the first 10 rounds.

These are the Cubs' slot values for the first 10 rounds:

Round 1 (Pick 23): $3,947,600

Round 2 (Pick 62): $1,487,200

Free-Agent Compensation Round (Pick 75): $1,120,900
