Renata Ford, the widow of former Toronto mayor Rob Ford, has died.
Renata’s death was confirmed by Rob’s brother, Ontario Premier Doug Ford, in a statement to reporters on Monday night. Renata is survived by her son Doug and her daughter Stephanie, who is an Ontario Progressive Conservative Party executive vice-president.

“My heart breaks for Stephanie and Dougie,” Doug said in a statement. “They’ve been through so much at such young ages and losing their mom is incredibly painful. Our whole family is hurting for them.
“We ask that people respect their privacy during this very difficult time.”
