Predicting Nuggets’ Starting Lineup If They Sign LeBron James
· Yahoo Sports
One player that every team in the NBA is monitoring this offseason is the all-time leading scorer, LeBron James. James announced recently that he has decided he will leave the Los Angeles Lakers and play elsewhere next season, and one team that could be in the mix to sign him is the Denver Nuggets.
The Nuggets are a team that could slide LeBron into their lineup, and this team could attract LeBron, given they have an MVP candidate, Nikola Jokic, at the forefront of the group, as well as having the same core that won them a championship in 2023.

David Gonzales-Imagn ImagesNBA insider Marc Stein reports that the Nuggets are one of the teams in play to sign LeBron, and the front office believes they have a chance to acquire the four-time Finals MVP.
"The Sixers, Nuggets, and Timberwolves, league sources say, all still believe they are still in this race to some degree and getting legitimate consideration from James and his camp alongside the Cavaliers, Warriors, and Heat," Stein reports.
Stein also mentioned how LeBron wants to find the best situation and fit this upcoming season, and it's not all about the money. Still, Denver would have to move pieces around to make way for him on the roster.
William Liang-Imagn ImagesHow Would LeBron Fit in the Nuggets' Lineup? There are two players who have been heavily rumored to be traded by the Nuggets this offseason, thanks to their tight salary cap situation. Christian Braun and Cameron Johnson are two players on big contracts, and one of them may have to go to bring in LeBron.
Realistically, if the Nuggets are going to heavily pursue LeBron, Cameron Johnson would have to be the first priority to move this offseason. Johnson is coming off a season in which he underperformed compared to his previous season with the Brooklyn Nets. LeBron could slide into that small forward spot in place of Johnson.
In the backcourt, Jamal Murray and Christian Braun would start, continuing the tandem for a fourth straight season. At small forward would be LeBron, a second floor general on the court for Denver.
Jason Parkhurst-Imagn ImagesThe power forward would be Aaron Gordon, who is coming off an injury-riddled season, but has been a key piece to the Nuggets' success since being brought over via trade in 2021.
The center would obviously be Nikola Jokic, who is consistently in MVP conversations and is a player who the franchise believes is still capable of bringing the Nuggets another championship.
Jokic is the player who attracts LeBron and other free agents the most, and he is the heart of this Nuggets team. Like LeBron, Jokic has a high basketball IQ, and their pairing could excel in the postseason.
