Irwin was involved in a four-rider crash on the first lap of the race on Saturday, and the Northern Ireland rider was taken to hospital with pelvic pain.

In an update provided on Sunday morning, British Superbike Championship organisers said initial scans have "excluded hip, pelvis and major cervical spine fractures".

Irwin, 36, will have further scans to "clarify any injury to the neck", and he is expected to be released in the coming days.

Last year, Irwin injured his pelvis in a practice crash at Snetterton and missed three rounds of the season.

Irwin's brother, Graeme, was also involved in the accident along with Charlie Nesbitt and Rory Skinner.

Graeme is deputising for his brother Andrew Irwin, who had surgery on a broken right humerus after a crash while testing at Knockhill in June.

After the race was red flagged at Snetterton after the crash, the race was restarted over 14 laps with McAMS Yamaha rider Bradley Ray declared the winner for his first victory of the season after a second stoppage halted the race on the final lap.

Hager PBM's Scott Redding finished in second 0.272 seconds behind, while Championship leader Kyle Ryder was a further three seconds back in third.

Two more BSB races take place on Sunday.
