UCLA Bruin forward Eric Dailey Jr. was in action on Friday for the United States’ 3x3 men’s basketball team in a Nations League game against Argentina. Dailey showed off his skill on Friday but he’s a very accomplished Team USA player.

Dailey is just 22-years old but he’s already won a Gold Medal at the 2022 FIBA U18 Americas Championship and at the 2021 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup. Dailey also won the 2021 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup dunk contest.

On Friday, Dailey didn’t need to dunk. The 6’8” forward dished out a behind-the-back assist, showing off his passing ability. Dailey wrapped up his second season with the Bruins this spring. The Oklahoma State transfer put up a career-high 11.6 points but UCLA might need even more from Dailey this season.
Dailey began his Team USA journey back in 2019 when he was a part of the U16 National Team training camp and he’s been involved ever since, collecting some hardware along the way.
The Bruins saw Donovan Dent and Tyler Bilodeau leave the program. Their combined 21 points per game hasn’t been replaced by another top scorer, leaving it up to returners like Dailey, Trent Perry and Xavier Booker to pick up the scoring load.
In addition to Dailey’s scoring, UCLA has relied on his all-around game. Dailey led the Bruins in rebounding last year with 5.8 per game but he also dished out the fourth-most assists on the team.
UCLA appears to be looking at adding another forward, but regardless of who the Bruins bring in, Dailey will be a big part of next year’s Bruin team.
