Brewers Bullpen Delivers Best Performance of Season
· Yahoo Sports
The Milwaukee Brewers didn't secure the prettiest win in the world, but at the end of the day, they still took down the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-4.
In a game that required 11 innings, it comes as no surprise that Milwaukee had to go quite deep into their bullpen.

The most surprising thing of all? Star pitcher Kyle Harrison went just 2.2 innings in a game that saw him allow three earned runs on five hits.
In total, he threw 72 of the team's 172 pitches. That said, the rest of the Brewers pitching staff recorded 25 outs in 100 pitches. For reference, it took him 72 pitches to record six outs.
Chad Patrick is Back"Kyle's picked us up all season, so we wanted to return the favor, and we stayed in the game and pitched our butts off," Chad Patrick said after the game, according to MLB.com.
The 27-year-old threw 3.1 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit in the process. He's been on a heater in his last three appearances, something he's desperately needed after allowing multiple runs in three of his last six prior to Monday, June 29.
Patrick was amazing and deserves a ton of praise for eating up those innings, but Brewers manager Pat Murphy knows it took a complete team effort to get the job done.
All-in-all, Patrick allowed one of just four hits given up by the Brewers after Harrison got pulled. Aaron Ashby, Abner Uribe, Trevor Megill, and Grant Anderson did their jobs and together contributed to one of the Brewers bullpen's best outings, if not the best of the season.
Murphy Praises His Relievers"They were great. We could see that Harrison was not filling up the zone like he normally does. He got behind in the count a lot," Murphy said.
Ashby and Anderson allowed one walk each, but other than that this bullpen combined for 8.1 innings of work and the lone run that came across was the Diamondbacks' ghost runner in the 11th inning.
Harrison didn't set the Brewers up for success, but for the first time in quite a while, this bullpen overdelivered. Heading into the MLB trade deadline, Milwaukee really needs to assess where things are at, and a performance like this gives them a new-found confidence in their relievers.
Keep in mind, the Brewers still have 10 more games before the All-Star break. They don't have a single off day in that span, and that includes a doubleheader on Tuesday, July 7.
