Kenny Klein, Louisville's longtime former sports information director, died June 25 at the age of 66. His funeral service was held Monday, June 29, at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church on Bardstown Road in Louisville.

Klein worked with the Cardinals men's basketball program from 1983 to 2022, primarily alongside coaches Denny Crum and Rick Pitino. Following his nearly 40-year stint at Louisville, Klein followed Pitino to New York City, where he joined the St. John's staff as a special advisor to the program.

Pitino delivered the eulogy at Klein's service, saying, "There was nobody better in life than Kenny. ... He is the most special person I've met in my 73 years."

Klein is survived by his wife, Donna; sons Alex and Brady; and three grandchildren.
