Kawhi Leonard trade rumors: Mavericks headline 2 blockbuster offers that just surfaced
· Yahoo Sports
NBA trade rumors can be a strange, often confusing, guessing game in many instances. While names like Jaylen Brown have been rumored as potential trade candidates, very little has surfaced about specific packages. However, the same can't be said for the interest in Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard. While the Toronto Raptors' interest in a reunion with Leonard surfaced last week, it's also been reported that Dallas Mavericks president Masai Ujiri is also interested in a reunion of his own. According to two reports, the initial offers from both sides include interesting pieces.

From the sound of the Raptors' and Mavericks' offers, much of the decision for the Clippers could come down to how the draft compensation looks, but the two rumored packages are interesting.
What the Raptors are reportedly offering in a Kawhi Leonard trade
Longtime Raptors beat reporter Michael Grange of Sportsnet cited the "most likely construction" of a deal for Leonard, and it would be headlined by 2025 NBA All-Star Brandon Ingram.
- Brandon Ingram
- Gradey Dick
- Draft compensation
As Grange notes, the combination of Ingram and Dick would work for salary matching. Leonard has one year and $50.3 million remaining on his contract, and according to a source cited in the potential trade offer breakdown, the Clippers are not going to offer Leonard an extension.
"The Clippers aren’t going to commit to anything with him, so it looks like he’s trying to strong-arm his way out of there," said one source, per Grange.
The Raptors' offer featuring Ingram is bound to generate decent interest. The 28-year-old former No. 2 overall pick has averaged 20.8 points or more in every season since 2019-20. The 2025-26 season marked his first with Toronto, and he played in 77 regular-season games, averaging 21.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 47.7% from the field and 38.2% from beyond the arc.
What the Mavericks are reportedly offering in a Kawhi Leonard trade
Ujiri, who was running the show in Toronto when Leonard was acquired and the team won the NBA title, reportedly wants to give it another run with Leonard, according to The Athletic. In a recent trade breakdown from Christian Clark, Dan Woike and Sam Amick, the trio reports that the Mavericks and Clippers have "discussed a deal" centered on Leonard.
The breakdown cites the following potential offer for Leonard, according to league sources:
- P.J. Washington
- Klay Thompson
- Draft compensation
Ujiri acquired the now-seven-time NBA All-Star back in 2018 when he was in Toronto, sending DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl and a first-round pick in exchange for Leonard and Danny Green. As previously stated, the move panned out, as the Raptors won their only championship in franchise history before Leonard ultimately joined the Clippers in free agency.
The potential move to acquire Leonard would be an interesting shift from Ujiri's comments back in May, as The Athletic highlighted. The Mavs president emphasized not making "decisions based on winning today."
"We have a 19-year-old generational player on our roster," Ujiri said, referring to Flagg. "We have to think that way. We are not going to make decisions based on winning today. I don’t think that would make sense for the organization."
Although both offers are likely to include negotiation from the Clippers, at a surface level, it may depend on how Los Angeles wants to move forward. Washington had a strong season with the Mavericks in 2025-26, averaging 14.2 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Between the two reported offers, the draft capital included should also heavily factor into the Clippers' decision, assuming they have interest in both packages.
