Jon Jones has been teasing a potential return to fighting for quite some time, but the UFC legend may be more serious than ever after helping train heavyweight protege Gable Steveson for his Octagon debut.

“Bones” may technically still be on the fence about his UFC future, but that hasn’t stopped the former two division champion from playing role of coach in 2026. Most notably, Jones has taken Stevenson under his wing as the former Olympic gold medalist prepares for his long-awaited Octagon crossover at UFC 329 next month. Jones is hoping Steveson can make a big splash and fight his way to a UFC title shot in 2027.

While training Steveson it appears Jones has rediscovered the itch to compete. That should be taken with a grain of salt giving his track record for flip-flopping, but any mention of a return is sure to leave fight fans in a frenzy. After all, Jones is widely regarded as the best fighter to ever compete in MMA. A comeback would be huge.

Earlier this week, Jones responded to a fan’s question on social media about his potential comeback. “Bones” was quick to respond and mentioned that he’s “moving like I never left.” The former UFC champion also mentioned the benefits of using stem cells to help rejuvenate his body.
