‘I’ve never slept with you or Edwin’: Thuli P clears Prince Kaybee dating rumours

Media personality Thuli Phongolo has denied rumours that she dated music producer and DJ Prince Kaybee.

The actress and DJ addressed the speculation after controversial X user @ChrisExcel102 listed Phongolo on what was described as “Prince Kaybee and businessman Edwin Sodi’s hitlist”.

Responding to the claims, Phongolo said the rumours were false and accused Kaybee of entertaining them.

“Today I woke up VERY Xhosa and petty ke sana! It’s one thing for Chris going off on this narrative, but entertaining it as though it’s true, knowing it’s NOT and feeding into this disgusting circus is where I draw the line!” she wrote in a series of Instagram stories.

The actress and DJ said she had only met Kaybee once this year and was tired of being “painted as loose”.

“@princekaybee_sa – I’ve literally only met you once at the gym this year, even on a HI & BYE basis! You know what you did with that response, it’s intentional… stop it!” she wrote.

She added: “If you’re going to entertain it, you might as well clear it with the TRUTH. I’ve never slept with you or Edwin, for that matter! This whole narrative of trying to paint me as loose is tired.”

Prince Kaybee: ‘I’ve never started a rumour’

Following Phongolo’s response, some fans asked Kaybee to address the rumours.

He replied: “Clear what rumour? I’ve never started a rumour; all that energy should’ve been directed to Maphorisa when he was allegedly abusing her. Y’all think just because I’m laughing here with y’all, I am some punching bag.”

In 2023, Phongolo opened a case against her then-partner, DJ Maphorisa, with the South African Police Service in Sandton. He later appeared in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Phongolo subsequently filed a withdrawal statement and agreed to his release on bail.

The pair later released a joint statement, saying they had resolved the matter privately.
