LSU baseball lands top two transfer portal players

LSU baseball inked two of the top prospects out of the transfer portal, according to Baseball America. The outlet listed Bino Watters and Landon Hood at No. 1 and 2, respectively, on its ranking of committed transfers.

Watters earned first-team All-ACC honors in 2026 with Notre Dame. As a sophomore, he finished in the top five of multiple hitting categories. Watters' .362 batting average, 79 hits, 51 RBI and 31 extra base hits ranked second. The outfielder hit 10 home runs and slugged .610 with a .446 on-base percentage.

Hood earned Freshman of the Year honors from the West Coast Conference. In his lone season with Gonzaga, the right-handed pitcher posted team bests with a 2.48 ERA and five saves. Through 16 appearances and 54.1 innings, he accumulated 78 strikeouts. Opposing teams batted .162 against him.

LSU experienced a down year in all facets one season removed from winning the national championship. Head coach Jay Johnson wasted no time securing two of the top transfers who proved their skill sets at the Power Four level.
