There doesn't appear to be any reason to panic. John Keim of ESPN noted that McLaurin was running on a side field, but not at full speed. Rookie wide receiver Antonio Williams joined McLaurin. Both players watched team drills from the sideline.

Is there reason to panic?

The Commanders offered no updates on McLaurin or Williams because it's not mandatory. So, head coach Dan Quinn does not need to discuss injuries or why a player does not participate in practice.

There's no reason to panic. Washington has OTAs for the remainder of this week, and McLaurin and Williams could be back on the field. If not, there's always next week when the Commanders hold their mandatory minicamp. This could be a case of McLaurin and Williams dealing with something minor, and Washington's training staff is not taking any chances.

There's no need to. It's June. If either player is in the same position next week, there's still no reason for concern. The goal is to have everyone, including those returning from injuries last season, on the field and 100% for training camp, which begins in around six weeks.

It's also possible that McLaurin simply received a veteran's rest day. He has nothing to prove to coaches, so giving him a rest day would make sense.

It's understandable if Washington fans pause when hearing McLaurin missed practice time. He was healthy for his first six NFL seasons, but suffered a quad injury in Week 3 last season, which cost him seven games. This was after his holdout from the team in the summer over his contract. It also raised concerns about McLaurin turning 30 last season. Would injuries begin to mount now that McLaurin reached 30, like they had many others in the past?

The Commanders have two more practices this week. We'll see if McLaurin and Williams are back on the field for minicamp next week. In the meantime, it creates opportunities for others, such as Treylon Burks, Dyami Brown and Luke McCaffrey, to impress coaches.
