SEC football recruiting rankings after Georgia recent surge

· Yahoo Sports

The Georgia Bulldogs are on a recruiting roll. Georgia has landed four commitments over the past few days. Georgia's recent commitments are four-star linebacker Joakim Gouda, three-star wide receiver Taurean Rawlins, three-star offensive tackle DJ Dotson, and three-star edge Olayiwola Taiwo.

Georgia's surge have the Bulldogs in top-25 nationally after a slow start. Georgia will in all likelihood rise more in the rankings before the early signing period, but this cycle appears to be a shift in recruiting ideology for Georgia. The Bulldogs have been targeting more three-star recruits than normal. Possibly as a way to cost-control Georgia's 2027 recruiting class. Eight of the Bulldogs' 12 commitments are three-star recruits.

The Oklahoma Sooners have the best recruiting class in the SEC. The Sooners have 23 total commitments, which is the most in SEC. However, recruiting titles aren't won in May or June. The Sooners will have to keep their impressive class and continue acquiring new top talent. The Texas A&M Aggies have 13 total commitments and the nation's second-best recruiting class. The Aggies and Florida Gators join Oklahoma as the only SEC teams ranked in the top-10 national recruiting classes.

LSU (No. 51 national recruiting class) and Alabama (No. 44 national recruiting class) are both off to slow starts, but have good quality in their recruiting classes. However, they lack in quantity. There's still a long way to go, but 2027 recruiting classes are taking shape and most recruits stay true to their commitments. All recruiting rankings are per 247Sports and are as of Monday, June 1.
