It Looks Like Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Is Delayed to 2027

· IGN

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis looks set for a release date delay announcement, after what appears to be an online advert leak ahead of Sony’s State of Play showcase.

Wario64, who as an Amazon Associate tweets affiliate links, took to X / Twitter to link to two listings for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis on Amazon alongside images, apparently confirming a $59.99 price point and a February 10, 2027 release date. Neither link is currently live.

We have no official explanation for the delay, but it's worth noting GTA 6's upcoming November launch, which will no doubt command attention and threaten the success of any triple-A video game that dares to come out in and around it. Tomb Raider will, however, now go up against Microsoft's Fable, which was similarly recently delayed to February 2027.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a remake of the original 1996 Tomb Raider, and was set for release later this year. Developer Crystal Dynamics is also working on a brand new Tomb Raider game, Tomb Raider: Catalyst, which was due out at some point in 2027. Alix Wilton Regan plays Lara Croft in both games, replacing Camilla Luddington, who portrayed Lara Croft in the Survivor Trilogy.

In March, Crystal Dynamics suffered its fourth redundancy round in 12 months, although the Embracer-owned studio insisted it remained “fully committed to the future development" of the Lara Croft franchise. The upcoming Tomb Raider games are published by Amazon, which is also working on a Tomb Raider TV show for Prime Video starring Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner.
