Toronto man charged with Rexdale murder; suspect cuffed in fatal Mississauga stabbing

A 30-year-old Toronto man has been charged with murder after a 28-year-old man was fatally shot on Sunday night in Rexdale.

Toronto Police said officers responded to a shooting call around 8 p.m. at an apartment building in the Queen’s Plate Dr.-Rexdale Blvd. area, east of Woodbine Racetrack.
Officers located a man — since identified as Anthony Taylor — with a gunshot wound. Life-saving measures were performed; however, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ernest Gyamfy was charged with second-degree murder.
It was Toronto’s 12th homicide of 2026.
Police said on Monday that several suspects remained outstanding.

Man charged in deadly Mississauga stabbing
A 28-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder following a fatal stabbing in Mississauga last month.
Peel Regional Police said officers responded on May 19 at 12:15 p.m. to reports of a stabbing near Hurontario and Agnes Sts.
It is alleged that the victim and accused became involved in a physical altercation in a nearby parking lot, at which time the victim was stabbed.
The victim, who has been identified as Chay Wilson, 32, of Mississauga, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A nationwide warrant was issued at the time for Jerome Edwards, who does not have a fixed address. Peel police said Edwards was arrested on Friday in the area of The Queensway and Kipling Ave. in Etobicoke.

Toronto man accused of sexually assaulting girl
A 32-year-old Toronto man has been charged after a young girl was the victim of an alleged sexual assault in Agincourt last month.
Toronto Police said officers responded shortly before 4 p.m. on May 12 to a report of a sexual assault in the Finch Ave. E.-McCowan Rd. area.
It was reported to police that an eight-year-old female victim was approached inside a retail store before allegedly being sexually assaulted and followed within the store.
Cops said the accused allegedly grabbed the victim, who then alerted family members. The accused was confronted by a family member of the victim before fleeing on foot.
On Monday, police said that Iman Behdar was charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.

Toronto man, 20, facing firearms charges
A 20-year-old Toronto man is facing a slew of weapon charges following incidents at subway stations over the weekend.
Toronto Police said officers responded to a person with a gun call on Saturday at 1:37 a.m. in the Coxwell and Danforth Aves. area.
Cops alleged that a man entered two subway stations and pressed the emergency alarm, disabling power to the subway trains coming into the stations.
Police said a man was found and arrested, at which time a firearm was allegedly located and seized.
Elijah Mandal-Allen was charged with two counts of mischief, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized and possession of a weapon.
