Lake Travis will be the only Central Texas high school baseball team playing for a state title

Both Dripping Springs and Rouse lost Game 3 of their best-of-three state semifinals series Saturday in the UIL playoffs as their seasons came to a close.

Houston Memorial 2, Dripping Springs 1

Isaac Richardson’s walkoff solo home run in the bottom of the seventh put the Mustangs into the Class 6A Division II state championship game. Sam Branyon singled and eventually stole home in the first for the Tigers’ run. Ethan Baylis doubled and scored later on a wild pitch in the second to tie the game for Houston Memorial. Breydan Madeley and Bobby Wilkinson also had hits for Dripping Springs. Nixon Badilla tossed a complete game with five strikeouts to pace the Tigers on the mound. 

Montgomery Lake Creek 2, Rouse 1

Peyton Trummell belted an RBI double and Aiden Rossano hit a run-scoring single as the Lions scored both of their runs in the sixth. Liam Mongold blasted a home run in the second for the Raiders. Cristian Caro and Scott Knight also had hits for Rouse, which received 5 ⅔ innings from Jack Doss on the mound. Colby Driskell tossed 1 ⅓ innings of scoreless relief for the Raiders.
