Gardner Minshew won't rock the boat about potential QB competition
· Yahoo Sports
The Arizona Cardinals have some drama with their quarterback situation. However, none of that has to do with Gardner Minshew.
Jacoby Brissett, the expected starter, has not been with the team during the voluntary offseason program. He is seeking a new contract that will pay him like a starting quarterback.

Minshew signed a one-year contract worth almost $5.7 million as a free agent. It is more than Brissett is scheduled to make and has more guaranteed.
Minshew has started 47 games in his career as a journeyman.
But he isn't making anything sound controversial.
He is taking first-team reps with the offense in OTAs, but he isn't trying to make noise as say there is a competition for the starting job.
His answer? "I don't know, man," he said this week. "I'm getting the reps I'm getting right now, trying to do the best I can, trying to help our team."
Brissett might show up for minicamp with or without a new deal. He might get the first-team reps and Minshew slides back into a backup role. If that happens, there is no storyline of a seeming competition.
Or, Brissett continues his holdout and Minshew continues to run things. Either way, it keeps things peaceful until training camp begins, which is when true starting battles and roster battles commence.
