On Wednesday, Dart took his side of the story directly to the team.
According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport, Dart spoke to the Giants about his decision to introduce Trump at Rockland Community College.
Rapoport reported other Giants team leaders also spoke during the meeting. They included linebackers Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux and backup quarterback Jameis Winston.

It is unclear exactly what Dart, the second-year starting QB, said during the team meeting. According to Garafolo, though, the team is “moving forward.”
Edge rusher Abdul Carter, the Giants’ No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, spoke out in opposition to Dart’s support of Trump almost immediately.
“What we doing man,” Carter posted on X on Saturday. The same day, Carter posted that he and Dart “spoke … as Men” and everything was fine.
Dart, a former Ole Miss Rebels quarterback, was New York’s No. 25 overall pick in the 2025 draft. He started 12 games in 2025, completing 63.7 percent of his passes for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions. He led New York to all four of its victories during a 4-13 campaign.
According to a report in the New York Post, the Giants did not give Dart approval to introduce Trump. Dart tried to start a “Go Big Blue” chant during the introduction.
The Giants are trying to limit distractions as they look to improve under new head coach John Harbaugh. The former Baltimore Ravens head coach has not commented on the Dart controversy.
