The New England Patriots made a major change to their receiving corps from last season by releasing Stefon Diggs and signing Romeo Doubs.

Diggs was a 1,000-yard receiver last season, and Doubs has never even recorded 800 receiving yards in a season. The receiving corps could use some more help, and rumors of the Patriots trading for A.J. Brown have been widespread in the last month or two. Mike Vrabel was asked about adding a wide receiver, perhaps even in the coming week, on Wednesday.
"We always, and when I say we, that includes Eliot, Ryan and Stretch, the coaching staff," Vrabel told reporters. "We want to continue to improve the roster every opportunity we can. When those opportunities arise? I don't know. I know that the guys we have here are working extremely hard."
Vrabel was specifically asked about an opportunity to add a receiver arising in the next week or so. That is in reference to June 1, an important date for A.J. Brown. Insiders believe that he will be traded after June 1, because that's when it becomes more advantageous for the Philadelphia Eagles to deal him.
Brown has long been linked to the Patriots in rumors. He would be a great addition to the Patriots. While many insiders believe he will end up with the Patriots, Vrabel's answer is more in line with what fans have heard from him and Eliot Wolf all offseason. The Patriots have refused to say they're trying to acquire Brown, but have not shot down the idea.
