North Little Rock to The Show: Travelers alum Nick Davila records first career strikeout in MLB debut

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — One day after being called up by the Seattle Mariners, pitcher Nick Davila recorded a strikeout in his MLB debut Sunday.

Davila had his contract selected by the Mariners on Saturday after his most recent appearance with the Travelers on Thursday in Wichita.

In his debut against the Kansas City Royals, Davila struck out All-Star slugger Bobby Witt Jr. for his first career strikeout. He allowed one hit and one walk while striking out one batter in one inning.

Davila, a Florida native, began his professional career in the Detroit Tigers system before signing with the Mariners in 2023.

He recorded four saves with the Travelers during the 2025 season and added twomore in his final series at CHI St. Vincent Field at Dickey-Stephens Park.
