Hornets beat Patriots on the courts

PLATTSBURGH — It was a day at the courts, and Plattsburgh High took care of business with wins in boys’ and girls’ tennis.

The boys won by a score of 5-0 with Ruhan Bamber and Patryk Klimkiewicz winning in straight sets.

In the lone doubles match, Soumar Bachaway and Theodore Raut won in sets of 6-1, 6-1.

The girls’ match finished 4-1, with AuSable claiming the win in the No. 1 doubles match. The rest of the day went to Plattsburgh.

In the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches, Emma Slattery and Ava Weiss won in straight sets, respectively.

Dana LaValley and Reese Boire in the No. 2 doubles and Julia Hertel and Dana LaValley in the No. 3 match sealed up the victory for the Hornets.

Bombers, Bobcats split

ELLENBURG — It was a closely played contest, but Lake Placid and NAC walked away with victories.

The Bobcats’ Kacy Hatch led the way with a straight set win in the No. 1 singles.

Shane Gilmore and Kameron Chinchilla at No. 1, Brycen LaBombard and Jake Manor at No. 2, and Milo Wilson and Corbin Damour at No. 3 all led to the 5-0 sweep for NAC.

The Bomber girls were the victors in the other match.

Fiona Sullivan and Raquel Arreaza won at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively

Dana Perez and Leighton Tomaszewski in the No. 1 doubles sealed the win for Lake Placid.

NAC earned two points with Bella LaBombard and Abby Brooks at the No. 2 and Kinsley Trombley and Emalynn Myers at the No. 3 doubles, winning their respective matches.

Eagles sweep

PERU — Beekmantown walked out of Peru in its victory in tennis.

The only blemish was the No. 2 singles match in boys’ tennis. Evan Brubach, of Peru, won in straight sets.

The other matches went the Eagles’ way with Dyan Brown winning the No. 1 singles match

The doubles matches consisting of Jackson Goodwin and Sonny DeBella at No. 1, Max Danville and Tyler Sand at No. 2, and Ryan Dubray and Logan DeMarse at No. 3 won to seal the Beekmantown win for the boys.

The girls’, on the other hand, walked out with a 5-0 sweep.

Oliva and Carly Hagadorn at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, won with only dropping one combined point.

The doubles matches confirmed the sweep with Lucy Conroy and Julia Conroy at No. 1, Sawyer Flemming and Jade Burdo at No. 2, and Maddy Ventre and Ava Whitman at No. 3 winning in straight sets.
