Coventry City produced a commanding performance to beat Portsmouth 5-1 in the Championship at the Coventry Building Society Arena. The hosts took control early and never looked back, with Haji Wright opening the scoring in the 12th minute from close range after a corner.

Ephron Mason-Clark added a second just after the restart, finishing from the right side of the six-yard box to put Coventry firmly in charge. Portsmouth did briefly respond through Adrian Segecic in the 69th minute, who scored from outside the box into the left corner, but the away side could not build any momentum.
Coventry?s attacking edge showed again in the closing stages as Mason-Clark struck for a second time in the 76th minute, this time with a left-footed effort into the top left corner after an assist from Victor Torp. Kaine Kesler-Hayden then completed the rout in added time, making it 5-1 with a right-footed finish from the centre of the box.
The statistics backed up the scoreline, with Coventry dominating possession by 72% to 28% and registering 15 shots to Portsmouth?s four.
