With World Cup looming, Alexi Lalas look-alikes run 2026 Boston Marathon
· Yahoo Sports
As one of the faces of Fox Sports' World Cup coverage, Alexi Lalas is going to be everywhere this summer.
On Monday, April 20, he showed up at an unexpected place: the Boston Marathon. But it wasn't exactly Lalas himself.

Amid the estimated 30,000 racers in the 2026 race were five lookalikes dressed in Lalas' iconic motif from the 1994 World Cup: denim kit, flowing red hair and long goatee.
Unsurprisingly, Fox Sports was behind the guerrilla marketing stunt.
Lalas became an American soccer folk hero during the 1994 World Cup, the last time the United States hosted the tournament.

The U.S. will once again serve as co-host this summer alongside Mexico and Canada in the first 48-team World Cup.
The Lalas lookalikes ran in a fitting place, with Lalas representing the New England Revolution for the first two years of MLS's existence in 1996 and 1997.
Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, home of the Revs, will host seven matches during the World Cup, including five group-stage games, a round of 32 match, and a quarterfinal on July 9.
