This year will mark the 130th edition of the Boston Marathon, an event that has provided plenty of great moments throughout its history.

Thousands of runners will look to complete the 26.2-mile race, but only a select few will compete for titles. The Boston Marathon will feature multiple divisions, including wheelchair and open groups for men and women.

Live updates, latest news, results from 2026 Boston Marathon

10:50 a.m. ET: Lemi Berhanu leads in the men's race, with the closest American being Ryan Ford. Kodi Kleven, Dakotah Popehn, and Isobel Batt-Doyle are leading in the women's race. 

10:41 a.m. ET: Eden Rainbow-Cooper earned the second-fastest finish in the wheelchair race with a time of 1:30:51 (she won in 2024 with a time of 1:35:11). 

10:32 a.m. ET: Hug revealed he tried to beat the course record. He talked about the impact of Hall. 

10:30 a.m. ET: Eden Rainbow-Cooper may get her moment, as she's ahead in the women's wheelchair race.

10:23 a.m. ET: Marcel Hug just won his fourth straight wheelchair race. He almost beat his own course record from 2024 (1:15:33) with a time of 1:16:06. It was his ninth win at the Boston Marathon. 

10:15 a.m. ET: It's a one-man race for Hug. He's close to winning another race, and in record time. 

10:07 a.m. ET: The U.S.'s Kodi Kleven leads the women's race, followed by Susanna Sullivan. 

10 a.m. ET: Wave 1 has started. Multiple races are going on at the same time!

9:58 a.m. ET: Daniel Romanchuk looks to give Hug a run for his money in the men's wheelchair race. Still, Hug is in a league of his own. 

9:52 a.m. ET: All four races have started. Good luck everyone!

9:49 a.m. ET: The women's professional race has begun. Kenya attempts to continue dominating the race. World Championships runner Jessica McClain is in the race. 

9:37 a.m. ET: The men's professional race has begun! John Korir attempts to win his second straight Marathon. Former Bruin Zdeno Chara looks to make an impact in the race. 

9:25 a.m. ET: Hug's pace at 7.3 miles (passing Framingham and going to Natick) is going to be hard to beat. The women are at 5.7 miles. 

9:20 a.m. ET: Eden Rainbow-Cooper is the current leader of the women's wheelchair race. She's looking for her second win (she won in 2024). 

9:17 a.m. ET: Bob Hall, the winner of the first wheelchair race in 1975, recently passed away.

9:15 a.m. ET: Marcel Hug is currently the leader in the men's wheelchair race. If he crosses the finish line, it will be the fourth straight win for the man from Switzerland.

The 2026 Boston Marathon will start at 9:06 a.m. ET on Monday, April 20, with the men's wheelchair division. Other divisions will follow with all runners expected to be across the starting line by 11:30 a.m. ET.
