Texas A&M is finalist to land 2027 4-star LB out of Alabama
· Yahoo Sports
Texas A&M's 2027 recruiting class continues to take shape heading into the summer, as the spring practice season has also served as a hosting opportunity for coach Mike Elko and his revamped staff, while the recent commitment of five-star edge Zyron Forstall has increased the chances of the Aggies' 2027 cycle ending as the No. 1-ranked class.
Currently ranked as Rivals/On3's No. 1 class after Forstall's commitment, Elko and new linebackers coach Travis Williams are looking to land blue-chip four-star LB Kaden Henderson, who recently made back-to-back visits to College Station, while the Aggies will compete with the Miami Hurricanes down the stretch.

Still, Henderson isn't the only linebacker prospect Elko and Williams have heavily pursued, as four-star Alabama native Isaac McNeil placed Texas A&M in his top-7 list, joining Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Florida, Georgia, and Jackson State.
After his first visit with the Aggies last week, McNeil came away impressed and will consider the program moving forward. Texas A&M has yet to land a linebacker in the 2027 cycle, and while Henderson will continue to be a priority prospect, gaining steam with McNeil could lead to a surprise commitment sooner than later.
McNeil, who is perfectly described as a "run and hit" linebacker who is highly valuable against the run, possesses the speed and athleticism to thrive as a middle or outside linebacker, depending on the scheme. During his 2025 junior season, McNeil recorded 92 tackles, 9 sacks, and 16 tackles for loss, while also serving as Vigor High's kicker and punter.
According to 247Sports, McNeil is the 87th-ranked prospect in the 2027 class, the 6th-ranked linebacker, and the 2nd-ranked prospect in Alabama.
