Beavers split relocated weekend behind walk-off wins

Apr. 6—MINOT, N.D. — A pair of walk-off wins put an emphatic end to the Bemidji State softball team's tough stretch.
The Beavers were supposed to play two home doubleheaders against Minot State and U-Mary, which were relocated to Minot, North Dakota, due to weather and field conditions. However, they made the best of another tough situation.

After dropping both games in their first doubleheader against Minot State by scores of 10-2 and 9-1 in five innings on Friday, BSU got it done in the final inning in both games against the Marauders.
Morgan Benedict hit a walk-off, three-run blast in the bottom of the seventh inning in Game 1 to deliver a 7-4 win. Lauren Beissel also homered in the win. In Game 2, Alayna DeGraef notched a game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh inning in a 3-2 win.
Danica Sarff earned both wins in the circle against U-Mary. Sarff combined to throw five shutout innings and struck out five batters. She didn't allow a hit and surrendered just one walk.
Bemidji State (8-27, 2-10 NSIC) does not have a home game scheduled until April 17 against Minnesota State Moorhead.
