The Boston Red Sox are 1-5, and, so far, Roman Anthony has not been the force many expected coming into the season.

Anthony is 5-for-22 with three walks through six games. He may not be hitting great right now, but nobody in the Red Sox organization is worried that his slump will last long. He came off the bench to hit a pinch-hit home run on Wednesday. Perhaps that's a sign of things changing.
Whether the home run sparks a hot streak or not, Alex Cora has confidence in his star outfielder. However, his confidence stems from his demeanor and attitude rather than his ability on the field.
"It’s just the person,” said manager Alex Cora, per The Boston Globe's Alex Speier on Thursday. “He doesn’t get caught up in the highs, which is very important… When you are a rookie (like Anthony was last season), and you’re doing well, sometimes you can get up there and feel like, ‘Oh, I’m invincible.’… And then when the lows come, he just stays calm.”
Anthony slashed .292/.396/.463 in 71 games last season. He came into the season with lofty expectations and has the makeup to live up to them. His season will not be defined by the slow start, but rather by what he does over the course of 162. There is still plenty of time for Anthony to get on a roll and lead the Red Sox to the postseason.
