Mumbai: In a significant move to address the growing workload in revenue administration and ensure faster, citizen-friendly services, the Maharashtra Government has approved the revised cadre structure of the Revenue Department.

The newly approved cadre structure provides for a total of 35,876 posts, encompassing the Stamp Duty, Land Records, and Revenue wings. This includes 34,576 regular posts and 1,300 outsourced posts.

The previous cadre structure for field staff in the Revenue Department was finalised in 2006. Over the intervening two decades, there has been a substantial increase and transformation in both revenue and non-revenue work. Recognising this evolving scenario, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule held detailed discussions with Chief Secretary Rajesh Agrawal and Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Vikas Kharge.

Thereafter, a high-level committee chaired by the Chief Secretary granted approval to the revised structure. The official Government Resolution was issued today.
