2026 MVC Player of the Year commits to Tennessee basketball

Tennessee added a commitment to its 2026 basketball transfer portal class.
Former Belmont guard Tyler Lundblade committed to the Vols on Wednesday, according to Jordan Tipton of On3. He will have one season of eligibility at Tennessee.

The 6-foot-5, 195-pound guard began his collegiate basketball career as walk-on at SMU. The Mustangs awarded him a scholarship and was revoked after parting ways with head coach Tim Jankovich.
Lundblade transferred as a walk-on and earned a scholarship at TCU in 2022. He played 14 games during two seasons before the Horned Frogs revoked his scholarship.
Lundblade transferred as a walk-on and earned a scholarship at Belmont in 2024. He averaged 12.4 points per game in his first season with the Bruins.
Lundblade was Belmont's top scorer during the 2025-26 season. He was a recipient of the Larry Bird Trophy, recognizing the best player in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Four former Belmont players entered the NCAA transfer portal after head coach Casey Alexander left for the same position at Kansas State. 247Sports ranks Lundblade as the No. 16 overall transfer and No. 3 shooting guard in the portal.
Three players from Tennessee's 2025-2026 roster are graduating: point guard Ja'Kobi Gillespie, shooting guard Amaree Abram and center Felix Okpara. Tennessee has three commitments in its 2026 basketball recruiting class: small forward Ralph Scott, power forward Manny Green and point guard Marquis Clark.
