4 charged after firearms seized in North York; cops seeking sex assault suspect

Four people have been charged with multiple firearm offences after police raided a residence and a vehicle in North York.

Toronto Police said officers from the 31 Division major crime unit armed with warrants conducted searches Tuesday at a residential address and a vehicle in the Keele St.-Finch Ave. W. area.

Police said a loaded firearm was allegedly tossed off a balcony during one of the searches before being found nearby. They said a second firearm was also allegedly found in the vehicle.

Joshua Parag, 25, of Toronto, was charged with uttering death threats and two counts each of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon, possession of an unloaded regulated firearm, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device/weapon, and failure to comply with a release order.

Derek Parag, 56, Jasmine Parag, 21, and Wendy Parag, 55, all of Toronto, were each charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon, careless storage of a firearm, and possession of a prohibited device/weapon.

Wendy Parag was also facing two counts of possession of an unloaded regulated firearm.

Cops hunting sex assault suspect

Police are appealing for information that will help them identify a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Flemingdon Park.

Toronto Police said officers responded to a report of a sexual assault Thursday at about 12:30 a.m. in the St. Dennis Dr.-Linkwood Lane area, where an unknown male suspect approached the female victim in the hallway of an apartment building.

Police said the suspect followed the victim into the hallway and sexually assaulted her. He fled after being confronted by the victim.

The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.

Police said the suspect is about 25 to 30 years old and is about 6-foot with an average build and short dark hair. He was last seen wearing a brown hoodie, dark blue zip-up jacket and light brown shoes with white soles.

Teen pedestrian critical after being hit by vehicle

A teenager is fighting for his life after being hit by a vehicle near a high school in the York area.

Toronto Police said they responded to a report of a personal injury collision Wednesday at about 2:35 p.m. in the Humber Blvd.-Louvain St. area, where St. Oscar Romero Catholic Secondary School is located.

Police said a 15-year-old male pedestrian was crossing Humber at a crosswalk while a black Toyota Corolla Cross being operating by a 71-year-old man was travelling westbound on Humber.

They said the vehicle struck the pedestrian, who was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver remained at the scene.
