KURT DARREN RELEASES ‘6 7’

On Wednesday, Kurt Darren released 6 7 via streaming platforms.

The English song featured lyrics like:

Riding with my baby in a 4×4

Those long days and those nights

Get lost, start a fire

Nothing better than this small-town life

The song has already received a wave of bad reviews from the public.

Under the audio clip were comments like:

“I’m jealous of the man I was before I listened to this”

“Can I give you 6 or 7 punches, please?”

“I enjoyed this more with the sound off”

“Trump should play this in Iran to force a surrender”

‘IT’S NOT A GIMMICK’

In various media interviews, Kurt Darren has labelled 6 7 a “feel-good nostalgic song”.

The Afrikaans singer claimed the song  – inspired by his kids, and hated by parents and teachers – was actually about a road trip.

He told The Expresso Show: “Not a gimmick…I’m having fun in my career”

“Imagine if every song I made was the same…another Kaptein”.

Speaking to Jacaranda FM, Kurt Darren defended his song against the backlash.

He said: “I don’t sing about alcohol and parties… it’s just good, clean fun. I’m not out there to hurt anyone. If people have fun with my songs, it’s all good”.
