Brewers Finish Cactus League Play With Loss

· Yahoo Sports

The Milwaukee Brewers wrapped up Cactus League play on Sunday, but it wasn't on a good note.

Brewers starting pitcher Chad Patrick gave up seven earned runs as the Chicago Cubs recorded a 12-0 victory. Meanwhile, the Brewers Prospects team ended up losing as well, 9-8, to the Athletics Prospects team.

Cubs third baseman Alex Bregman hit his second Spring Training home run as the Cubs' offense was cooking. The Brewers' offense only mustered up six hits against Chicago pitching.

Milwaukee finished Cactus League play with a 12-16 record. Brewers manager Pat Murphy, though, might not be too concerned about that mark. His attention, as well as of the rest of the Brewers' roster, now turns to the 2026 MLB regular season.

Before that starts, though, the Brewers are going to play a few exhibition games at American Family Field in Milwaukee.

On Monday and Tuesday, the Cincinnati Reds come to town. Monday's game starts at 7:40 p.m. ET, while Tuesday's game is at 5:10 p.m. Brewers fans can listen into the game on the Brewers Radio Network.

Also, Brewers.TV is starting this season and is available.

According to an MLB.com article, "This offer is only for Brewers fans in the Club's Home Television Territory. Information on cable and satellite providers, including specific channel locations, will be announced at a later date."

Brewers Getting Roster in Shape

On Sunday, though, the Brewers made a couple of additional roster moves. The team optioned left-handed pitchers Robert Gasser and Shane Drohan down to their Triple-A affiliate in Nashville.

Brewers beat reporter Adam McCalvy of MLB.com put some order into how the Brewers' 26-man roster is shaping up right now. Remember, MLB teams have until noon ET Wednesday to get that roster lined up.
