Olivia Miles was supposed to be in the WNBA right now.

After last season at Notre Dame, Miles appeared primed to be a top-three selection in the 2025 WNBA Draft. But instead, she shocked everyone.

Not only did Miles pull out of the WNBA Draft. She left the Fighting Irish in the transfer portal to join TCU and play for the Horned Frogs.

It's a move that still has wide-ranging implications, because both Notre Dame and TCU are in the NCAA Tournament, but both look very different than they would if Miles had never left South Bend.

She put up a triple-double in the first round of March Madness, and that may not be the last one.

It's something Notre Dame is missing, and TCU is glad to to have.

Why did Olivia Miles transfer from Notre Dame to TCU?

Miles left Notre Dame following a tough collapse at the end of last season.

They had been ranked No. 1 in the country at one point, but they lost in the ACC semis, and then they were knocked out of the NCAA Tournament in the Sweet 16... by TCU.

TCU has turned its program around by landing huge transfers for head coach Mark Campbell, and Miles was the latest.

Notre Dame was set to lose a bunch of players, aside from superstar Hannah Hidalgo.

Miles chose to use her extra year of eligibility, gained from time missed due to an ACL injury, in a new place.

It has certainly worked out nicely for TCU.
