Cody Ponce has dominated during Spring Training, and his next pitching start will come in the regular season.

Ponce is one of the most fascinating pitchers in MLB this season, and that's because of how he got here.
He last pitched in the majors in 2021 as a reliever for the Pirates, where he ranked 436th out of 436 qualifying pitchers in baseball in batting average against. Ponce got shelled.
He left for Japan after that season and stayed there for three years.
In 2025, he shifted to the Korea Baseball Organization, where he had a 17-1 record with Hanwha. His ERA was 1.89, and he had 252 strikeouts in 180.2 innings pitched. He earned league MVP honors.
Ponce's fastball velocity increased while he was away, and he added a changeup.
The Blue Jays signed him for three years and $30 million, and now he's looking to make the most of his return.Â
