“We are on the top of the world right now,” Rojas said. “What a tournament overall. But I think Venezuela showed the world the kind of baseball we have going on right now, especially in the last decade.
“…This much attention was due to happen to a Venezuelan team, because we’ve been putting out country in a really big place, a really top place in baseball.”

Rojas didn’t participate in the World Baseball Classic due to issues with his insurance — a common theme leading up to this year’s WBC.
“I am very sad today,” Rojas wrote in an Instagram story translated from Spanish to English. “It’s a real shame not to be able to represent my country and wear that flag on my chest.
“On this occasion, age was not just a number.”
The veteran openly voiced his opinion on the matter in the aftermath, expressing frustration over the issues Latin American countries had with losing players to insurance issues.
“I don’t see that happening with the United States, or happening with Japan,” Rojas said at DodgerFest. “And I’m not trying to attack anybody or attack what’s going on … But if I can still play in the big-leagues for the Dodgers, why am I not going to play for my team in Venezuela and represent my country?”

Following his World Series heroics, the Dodgers signed Rojas to a one-year deal in the offseason — their first big league signing of the period.
Rojas is sure to play an important role in the Dodgers’ season, but will likely spend most of his time coming off of the bench for LA.
The veteran has proven his efficiency at the plate and in the field over the past couple of years, and he will look to meaningfully contribute to the Dodgers’ three-peat efforts in 2026.
