Texas A&M players continue to make moves early in free agency, and another former Aggie wide receiver is headed west for the 2026 NFL season.

On Monday, Jordan Schultz reported that former Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars wideout Christian Kirk will sign with the San Francisco 49ers, joining fellow Aggie star Mike Evans in California. Kirk’s deal is a one‑year contract worth up to $6 million, giving San Francisco another proven veteran target as he enters his ninth NFL season.
Kirk is coming off a modest 2025 campaign — one of his least productive — after battling injuries for the second straight year. Houston’s inconsistent quarterback play didn’t help, but when the lights were brightest, he delivered. In the Texans’ wild‑card win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kirk erupted for 144 yards on eight receptions and a touchdown, then followed it with Houston’s lone touchdown in the loss to the New England Patriots the next week.
That postseason surge was a reminder that he still has plenty left in the tank. Now, surrounded by one of the league’s deepest offensive arsenals and guided by one of the NFL’s top play‑callers, Kirk is positioned for a potential jump in efficiency and production in 2026.
