Real Madrid academy star reacts after dream assist on Bernabeu debut: ‘Will never forget it’

Real Madrid’s convincing 4-1 victory over Elche was memorable for several reasons.

While the team produced a strong performance on the pitch, the night was particularly special for a group of young academy players who were given the opportunity to showcase their talent with the first team.

One of those players was Dani Yanez. The young Castilla forward not only made his debut at the Bernabeu but also played an important role in the match by providing the assist for Real Madrid’s third goal.

Yanez delivered a well-placed ball into the box from a corner, allowing Dean Huijsen to head the ball into the net and extend Real Madrid’s lead. It was a moment that the young winger will remember for the rest of his life.

Reflecting on the moment

Speaking after the match on the club’s official channel, the youngster admitted that the emotions of the night were difficult to put into words.

“I can’t describe how I feel, I have no words, it’s something indescribable. I imagined good things, but with the assist, it was even better.”

Yanez then explained how the play developed and how fortunate he felt that the delivery found Huijsen perfectly inside the penalty area.

“I delivered the ball because it came from a corner. I knew there would be people in the area, and I was lucky to hit the ball well, and it landed on Huijsen’s head, ending in an amazing goal.

“It was incredible, and I will never forget it.”

Even before the stadium filled with supporters, the moment already felt special to him.

“I was astonished as soon as I entered the stadium, even though at first, it was empty.

“Later, when I entered with everyone cheering, it was incredible, and I will never get it out of my head.”

At the end of the game, a photograph of five Castilla players celebrating together became a symbol of the academy’s work.

For Yanez, the image represented years of preparation at Real Madrid’s youth system.

“It represents all the hard work we’ve been putting in at La Fabrica. They prepare us for these moments, and today it showed that we delivered a great performance.

“That’s what the academy is for, to help in these moments and give our maximum effort.”

Finally, the youngster also shared his reaction to the spectacular goal scored by teammate Arda Guler during the match.

“We know that only the best in the world are here, but when you see that go in, you can’t believe it. It was an amazing goal like I haven’t seen in a long time,” he concluded.
