The latest involves replenishing the offensive line with help from the San Francisco 49ers.

Matt Hennessy was a free agent after spending the 2025 season with the 'Niners, and now he'll be joining the Cowboys.

ESPN's Todd Archer reported the signing on X late Thursday night.

"Would be in line to replace Brock Hoffman, who was not tendered as an RFA," Archer wrote of the lineman who appears to be signing elsewhere in free agency.

Hennessy is listed at 6-foot-5, 315 pounds and is 28 years old from Long Island.

He played his high school football at powerhouse Don Bosco Prep (NJ) before going to Temple to play collegiately for the owls.

Hennessy was a third-round pick by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2020 NFL Draft.

He spent his first five-and-a-half NFL seasons with the Falcons. His best year was 2021, when he started all 17 games for Atlanta.

In all, Hennessy played 45 games, starting 22, for the Falcons before joining the 49ers midway through 2024.

He played all 17 games for the 'Niners in 2025, starting two of them, and totaled 19 games in all for San Francisco during his career.

Hennessy has that interior line versatility that the departed Hoffman has. When he started every game for Atlanta in 2021, it was at center.

Depth on the offensive line has to be versatile, and Hennessy definitely has that skill. This signing should fill exactly what Dallas needed to find.
