Over the next few days, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman will identify potential free agents who could help his team improve next year and sign a few of them. Running back Saquon Barkley was his most successful signing in recent years. He has also missed on some free agents, including Bryce Huff and most of the 2025 bargain-bin additions.

This year, expect the Eagles to target tight ends, wide receivers, safeties, cornerbacks and offensive line/defensive line depth. Philadelphia is unlikely to make any splash moves at those positions, but they could sign players to one-year deals for minimum money or to multi-year deals that aren’t too expensive.

Roseman is going to save most of his money to lock up his defensive stars to long-term deals. The Eagles enter free agency with just over $12 million in cap space, per overthecap.com. That’s not a lot.

The Eagles have a long list of impending free agents, including Jaelan Phillips, Dallas Goedert, Nakobe Dean and Reed Blankenship, who could sign elsewhere or re-sign with the team on extensions. They will also add players to replace their roles.

Here are the latest updates on the Eagles’ free agency moves and offseason plans:

  • At this point, it’s more likely the Eagles trade wide receiver A.J. Brown with a post-June 1 designation after the draft to make the cap hit less damaging, according to NFL Network. But Roseman is being creative to get a deal done. He’s tried to convince teams to do half the deal now and half of it later so he can trade Brown before the draft and manage the cap hit, per the same report.
  • The Eagles are building momentum toward re-signing edge rusher Jaelan Phillips, per NFL Network.
  • Sports Illustrated reporter Albert Breer reported on Monday that Brown’s trade wish list includes the Chargers, Chiefs and Patriots.
