More than 1,100 Michigan high school wrestlers began their journeys toward being crowned state champion on Friday, and concluded with 140 remaining contestants. Today's event will see 70 wrestlers be coronated as a state champion.

Of those 140 wrestlers entering the final day, five have a chance to etch their names in the record books becoming four-time champions.

On the boys side, Detroit Catholic Central's Wyatt Lees (132 pounds, D-1), Grand Rapids Catholic Central's Dale Grant (138, D-3) and Hudson's Nick Sorrow (132, D-4) look to add their names to the near 40 boys who have achieved the accomplishment prior to them.

For the girls, Westland John Glenn’s Nakayla Dawson (115) and Plainwell’s Madison Nieuwenhuis (105) look to join Margaret Buurma Folwerville as the only girls to win four straight.

Manuel sisters look to sweep

Kaili and Belicia Manuel of Romeo High School, who moved here from Alaska along with their five sisters, look to win championships in the 155-and 170-pound weight class. After finishing as a state runner-up last year, Belicia (49-0) looks to bounce back from last year's loss and remain undefeated in the 155-pound finale against Aaliyah Langell of Big Rapids (27-1). Kaili (47-1) can become a three-time state champion with a win in the 170-pound contest when she matches up with Thornapple Kellogg's Adelaide Holderman (25-2).
