As tech companies take the next step in embedding smartphones with artificial intelligence, Honor has taken it further with a robot phone that can track your movements like a gimbal.

The robot phone was unveiled the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona this week.
MWC is known for conceptual and innovative technology, and this year was not different. While Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S26 series with agentic AI last week and Huawei with its Mate 80 Pro, other brands like Tecno even had wilder concepts, like the Povo Neon phone that displays an electric current at the back of the device.
Honor robot phone
The Honor robot phone is pretty cool and will be a hit among vloggers who now don’t have to carry a DJI Osmo Pocket or a selfie stick to make the video for Instagram or TikTok.
Honor called the new robot phone a “new species of smartphones”, giving it a sense of being alive.
The company anchored its exhibition with a vision for the future-Augmented Human Intelligence (AHI).
The robot phone is a conceptual smartphone featuring a motorised, three-axis gimbal camera arm.
The ‘smartphone’ looks like a state-of-the-art phone, but with a mechanical arm attached, housing a small capsule that unfolds to reveal a camera, giving the impression of a robot’s head.

Human-centric
It can physically move, “nod” or “shake” its head in response to the user and automatically follow subjects for video calls or vlogging.
“We believe the essence of AI must remain human-centric,” said James Li, Honor CEO.
“Our goal is to give intelligence both IQ and EQ, the power to solve, and the soul to understand. It will help us navigate a fast-changing world, so we can live each moment with joy, love and wisdom.”
Honor Magic V6
While foldable smartphones are not as popular as many companies would like them to be, Honor also unveiled the Magic V6 foldable phone.
Despite companies saying its not about being the thinnest foldable, there is a race to be slim, and the competition is heating up between Honor, Samsung with its Galaxy Fold 7 and Huawei with its Mate X7.
The Honor Magic V6 officially unveiled at MWC 2026 is being marketed as the world’s first foldable with combined IP68 and IP69 ratings, prioritising extreme durability alongside an ultra-slim design.
The Honor Magic V6 is equipped with a 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery, the largest ever in a foldable. The batteries are as thin as playing cards.
The silicon-carbon blade battery, features 32% silicon content and 985 Wh/L and signals new ground in ultra-thin, ultra-high energy battery technology.

Honor also unveiled the MagicPad4 tablet and MagicBook Pro 14 laptops as it competes with other companies in segment other than mobile devices.
Many companies also showcased a lot of humanoid robots at MWC and Honor had their robot welcoming visitors to the stand.
