There's been buzz about a Maxx Crosby trade as well, but such a deal will be hard to accomplish with the lofty asking price from the Las Vegas Raiders.

While a Crosby deal didn't get done, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bears are finalizing a trade to send Moore to the Buffalo Bills in a blockbuster trade.

Bears set to trade DJ Moore to Bills in blockbuster move

"ESPN sources: the Chicago Bears are working to finalize a trade that would send WR D.J. Moore to the Buffalo Bills," Schefter reports.

This is a blockbuster trade, and the final details of the return for the Bears are still being finalized.

While there is plenty of intrigue about the return, it's not likely to be much more than a mid-round pick.

The trade isn't able to be finalized until the new league year begins, either, so the Bears and Bills will be able to hash out the details of this deal before March 10, when the new league year actually begins.

With Moore set to leave the Bears, Caleb Williams will still have a good cast of receivers to target. Rome Odunze, Luther Burden and Coleston Loveland are all still great receiver options for Williams.

While Moore was a solid receiver for the Bears, recording 244 catches, 3,012 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns during his time in Chicago, the Bears have weapons at their disposal to move forward without him.

By trading away Moore, the Bears are going to save $16.5 million in cap space, though they will be hit with a $12 million dead cap hit for the 2026 season.

But overall, the Bears are saving a ton of money and bringing back some draft capital to move on from Moore after a few years with the Bears.
