The Boston Bruins got a huge win at home over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday.

Boston allowed a goal just 42 seconds in, but the Bruins tied it up not even five minutes later and took a 2-1 lead just 50 seconds later, which ended up being the winner. The Bruins were led by Jeremy Swayman, who made 34 saves, and head coach Marco Sturm credited the goalie for the win.

“He was the reason why we won this game tonight,” Sturm said on Tuesday as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage.

With the win, the Bruins remain in a playoff spot, and Swayman said the team is using Friday’s trade deadline as motivation to keep winning so the team can be buyers.

“It’s excitement,” Swayman said. “It is really fun to come to the rink. Understand that we have a real chance at our ultimate goal. That’s something that we can really rally around this time of year.

“We get through this week, and we know that we’re pushing together, all for each other, and obviously for this incredible fanbase.”

The Bruins return to the ice on the road on Thursday against the Nashville Predators, which is Boston’s final game before Friday’s trade deadline.
