2 teams to watch in potential trade for Bears WR DJ Moore

With free agency just around the corner, trade rumors are swirling around the Chicago Bears. While trade talks involving Chicago and Las Vegas Raiders star pass rusher Maxx Crosby have been heating up, there's also plenty of buzz surrounding Bears wide receiver DJ Moore.
Moore, who is signed through 2029, is set to carry a $28.5 million salary cap hit in 2026. While it's on the affordable side as far as the top wideouts go, Moore is coming off his worst statistical season with the emergence of young receivers Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III. And it's difficult to justify his cap hit, especially with Chicago needing to clear space this offseason.

Naturally, there's been trade talks involving Moore, which one Bears insider believes the team could find a trade partner for the former first-rounder that could result in a Day 2 pick. According to CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones, "plenty around the league are keeping an eye on" Moore in a potential trade, and there are two teams that have now been linked.
"The Patriots could be a landing spot for Moore if the Bears do a deal involving the receiver," Jones wrote, "or he could be part of a hypothetical package that goes to a needy Las Vegas team in a deal for Crosby."
During the NFL Scouting Combine, general manager Ryan Poles sang Moore's praises and expressed his desire to retain the wideout in Chicago. But, this is a business after all. And considering the Bears' influx of weapons on offense and their current salary cap situation, landing a premier draft pick and clearing cap space in dealing Moore would be a win for Chicago. Bonus points if they can send him in a trade package for one of the NFL's best edge rushers in a Crosby trade.
If the Bears are able to deal Moore, it would free up $24.5 million in salary cap space in a post-June 1 trade.
