Sophie Rylance win in 800-meter race highlight Beavers at Ted Nelson Classic

Feb. 16—MANKATO — The Bemidji State women's track and field team collected four top-three finishes Saturday at the Ted Nelson Classic in Mankato, highlighted by sophomore Sophie Rylance.

Rylance picked up a first place finish in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:15.94, her second event win of the season.

Other top-10 finishes in track include Maggie McCarthy, who took sixth in the one mile race (5:22.58). Jada Goeson scored a personal best in the 1000-meter race, finishing eighth with a time of 3:07.74. Amelia Congrove also scored a personal best in the 400-meter race (1:01.01), placing eighth.

On the field, Trista Bilden marked a personal best of 12.88 meters in the shot put, placing second. Kate Martin finished 1.87 meters behind her in 10th. Allison LaVine took third with 1.53 meters in the high jump, while Hannah Baker claimed third with 16.44 meters in the weight throw.

The Beavers close out the regular season Friday in Grand Forks, N.D., at the UND Tune Up.
